Top-Ups

Ongeza Life Plan is the only insurance product in the market which allows you to choose how much cover you wish to buy whenever you wish to do so, without requiring you to enter into contractual obligations. It gives you entire flexibility and freedom.

You can top-up any amount of cover, subject to a maximum of R150 000 over every rolling 12 months. You choose the amount of cover for life you wish to buy and we calculate the applicable once-off premium for you. Alternatively, you choose the amount of premium you can afford to pay at any time, and we calculate the amount of cover for life that premium can buy you. You can do this by calling us on 010 312 5030 and one of our friendly staff will assist you through the top-up process.

Alternatively, you may deposit any amount above R500.00 into the same bank account as the initial premium and continue to use your policy number as a reference and Ongeza Life will top you up with the relevant cover as soon as your top-up premium reflects in the insurer’s bank account.

You will then be sent your top-up schedules through SMS and email.

Exclusions

If death occurs as a result of suicide during the first 12 months of any Premium payment (i.e. any portion of Cover bought), no benefit is payable.

Ongeza Life shall not be liable for any Claims directly caused by or resulting from –

1. The use of nuclear, biological or chemical weapons, or any radioactive contamination;

2. Attacks on or sabotage of facilities (including but not limited to nuclear power plants, reprocessing plants, final repository sites and research reactors) and storage depots which lead to the release of radioactivity or nuclear, biological or chemical warfare agents, irrespective of whether any of the aforesaid has been performed with the specific use of information technology; and

3. War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities or warlike operations (whether war be declared or not) or civil war, mutiny, military rising, military or usurped power, martial law or state of siege, or any other event or cause which determines the proclamation or maintenance of martial law or a state of siege, insurrection, rebellion or revolution.
